Any takers to try it? Looks like it would barely hold the weight of two people…
By the time they’ve finished “enhancing” the station (so far only with a high fructose corn syrup dispenser), it will look as lovely as Calais. Thanks to David for the pics.
In other news, our landlord wants to put the rent up, and we’ll never be able to afford to buy a flat here. Feeling glum.
I feel your pain. I hated leaving Blackheath but could never have afforded a 2 bed in the area.
So it was off to Hither Green. Still it’s only 5/10 minutes on the bus – so could be worse….
Hi, you were listed as one of the top 20 “London” blogs by Wikio, the full listing will be published tomorrow but you can have a preview in my blog, apologies for the link but here it goes: (http://www.thelondonfoodie.co.uk/2010/11/sneaky-preview-of-top-20-london-blogs.html). Well done!

That’s cheered me up a bit!
Saw that rickety bridge myself. Assume it’s for the people attending the fireworks tonight, though still a strange place to put it.
I take it this bridge is temporary while they are doing works to the station. It’s ghastly!?!
Not a very wise idea to start before Fireworks, will reduce capacity and flow on the platform for visitors?
Is there a reason for this? I’m just trying to envisage why people would use the bridge to go the other way having just come from there!
I think one (or both) of the main routes down to the platform is going to be out of action. So the rickety bridge might be the only way to gain access to one of the platforms for a little while.
