The fireworks display is on November 5th at 8pm, and admission is free.
Oh, and for some reason there’s a Blackheath Fireworks twitter account. It doesn’t do much except go “Whoosh” every so often (nothing wrong with that though). I’m guessing it’s not official, judging by the profile page…
So yet again, Bugle-Dad-birthday (and a wedding to attend) meant that Mr & Mrs Bugle could not, and possibly will never manage to attend the biggest and best fireworks display held in their back garden (almost). So instead, to compensate I have re-lived the event by tragically staring into my laptop screen, whilst waving a sparkler. More below:

So now we know. The final bid for the Blackheath Fireworks VIP ticket was £1000. Placed by the mysterious “0***o” (an anonymous name given by eBay) on October 28th at 7:21am, the user has 0% positive feedback, so let’s just hope it’s not a spoof account. In the meantime, I’m personally looking forward to the bidding for the “pay to get your wheelie-bins left back where you put them” auction. Should be a corker.

So the great Lewisham Council eBay experiment ends in just under an hour. It’s currently up at £1000. What do you think the end price will be? Correct answer gets a damp squib… Graph above by me, based on my dodgy data munging here.
Yet again I won’t seeing Blackheath’s fireworks. I’ve never seen them, as BugleDad’s birthday is this time of year. If anyone can think of a convincing argument for Blackheath’s fireworks over Epsom‘s, I’d love to hear it- god knows I’ve tried everything I can think of!
As simonj007 pointed out, there are expected to be 65,000 people at the Blackheath Fireworks, so best turn up early, and think of an ingenious exit strategy at the end! The council’s official page on the fireworks is here. It starts at 8pm.
