Sorry for the lack of posts this week – been busy.
The Pagoda appeared on London Tonight a few days back.
853blog has a great post about the changes afoot on Blackheath and in Greenwich park as the Olympics bear down upon us… Can’t believe Greenwich council were considering raising the speed limit in the park. What were they thinking?!

Well, they were thinking – they considered the proposal (which is their duty, isn’t it?) and rejected it.
I’m just amazed it was even being considered.
You may, understandably, dislike them, but not sure Greenwich council had anything to do with this. Just a silly proposal from the Park Police.
Wolfe is right. The Royal Parks (a Government agency) are solely responsible for rules in the Park , such as speed imits, and they are beyond the coucnil’s contorl. Greenwich Coucnil argued, along with others, for a reduction in the speed limit to 20mph following a fatal accident a few years ago, and I am strongly opposed to any reversal of this reduction. I have asked the Royal Parks why they are considering this and await a reply.
