Very nice, but I still prefer the 1950’s Bonfire Night, on the 5th. of November , in the early evening a huge bonfire was lit on the stretch of Heath in front of the Royal Parade, a couple of hundred of parents and children gathered around,
nearly all the children had sparklers , most of the parents , let off roman candles and rockets etc.
this plus the huge flames and warmth of the bonfire was for the children more exciting than the present day firework displays.
This could not take place nowadays due to Health & Safety regulations and CO2 emissions.

But it remains a nice memory
